I became a portrait photographer in 2009 and set up Andrew Collier Photography, specialising in environmental portraiture. I love photographing people and animals on location, so environmental portraits of families, couples, dogs and horses became my core work. But winters can be long and cold, and it rains a lot in England so outdoor portraits can be a bit unreliable as a source of income. So I honed my lighting skills, bought some lights and I started doing headshots and some brand photography too (my background is marketing). I quickly realised that people want to see relevant content when they're searching online so justheadshots.photo and yourcommercialphotographer.com were born.

It's all my work but targeted at different markets and different end users. The one thing they have in common is that they demand high quality and creative flair, whatever their business. Along the way I kept photographing things I saw on my travels in the UK, Spain, France and Portugal. I ended up with a large body of personal work running to thousands of photographs. A while back I was showing some to my photographer friends and they persuaded me to make them available as fine art prints. And that's how my fine art gallery was born.

I approached a few fine art photography galleries over several months but they either weren't interested in working with a complete unknown or wanted to pay buttons of my prints. I was getting nowhere. The one day in late 2025 I was getting despondent about the project, and I suddenly thought, stuff this, I'll build a gallery and sell direct. I'll make more but the photos will be cheaper for my customers. And here we are.
